Add Hihome Smart Wi-Fi GEN.2 device

Since 2021, many Hihome devices are equipped with a GEN.2 chipset. In addition to WiFi, this chipset is equipped with a Bluetooth module. This Bluetooth module is intended for fast and virtually automatic pairing. However, it is necessary to have the Bluetooth function on the smartphone with which the pairing is initiated.

It is also essential that, at the time of pairing, the smartphone is connected to the same WiFi network as the target network for the device to be paired.

1. Open the Hihome Smart App and select "+" or Add device

2. Make sure the device to be added is in pairing mode. If necessary, follow the specific instructions to reset the device.

A Hihome Smart plug in pairing mode will give a fast blinking LED. A Hihome Smart LED in pairing mode will flash rapidly. The device to be paired is automatically recognised.

3. As soon as a connectable device is found, the screen above will appear. Then choose to add.

Click on the "+" to add the found device. It can also be several devices.

4. Make sure that at the time of pairing, your smartphone is connected to the WiFi network you want to connect the smart device to. NOTE: This must be a 2.4Ghz only WiFi network. Smart devices do not work with 5Ghz WiFi networks and use in combination with dual-band WiFi networks often causes problems. 5. Then the device will be found and added to your home.
